By MLSchlepsApril 20, I wasn't happy with the available overlays that are out there, so I decided to make some myself. I think they turned out pretty well and I'll be releasing them on this thread.

Bezel & Overlay Submissions

Enclosed in each pack attachment will be the marquee at pixels wide, a bezel overlay with the artwork on the sides and any background picture needed at x pixels and the necessary Retropie config files. Using Pac-Man as an example, the pacman-image.

The pacman. Here's Frogger, too. I will post one or two every day until I get them all done. I'm starting with the Vertical games and then do the Horizontal games. Let me know any requests and I will fill them as I go.

The texts are from scans of the original bezels I have found on the internet. I have clipped them and edited them and put these together. Today's bezel is different. This is my first Horizontal bezel and it took some time to do. Presenting Berzerk! The video image is the same size as the vertical games: x - a ratio. I had to stretch the bezel so you could see the whole screen - the Robot's arm was covering up the gameplay field, so it's a slight modification from the original bezel.

Each of the current overlays has an optional screen-glare variation. Scanlines can show weird moire patterns when downscaled, so please click the images for full size. This is mostly because I'd rather not have multiple variations on vertical position of the screen if I can help it. I also figured out that I can use raspi2png to grab actual screenshots from the Pi itself over SSH, so I'll start adding some real examples to the OP soon. Nice work TreyM! There is a dedicated folder for my overlays. For now, installation is still manual, but you only need to place the CRT folder in the overlays folder. SubstringI have made all the steps for Final Fight in fba-libretto, but another problem arrised: when I got out of Final Fight and load another game, the same overlay apllied to this game and for every one that I load.

The main problem is that I want to load games that belongs to the same core: it seems there are a conflict for roms inside the same core in this procedure, no matter the path you create. TheRealFox as i said, it's a per game basis i should add a core fallback i guess? Regarding your problem, i'm surprised The overlay file should not be added for a different rom.

Just go to your core directory, make copies of the original core and rename those cores whatever you like. Naomi 1. Thank you. My arcade bezels can be used with Retroarch. They just have to be setup appropriately to do so.

The overlays are selected to be sublte, and represent the original hardware in some way. So, no bright logo and mascots.

If one of your file is here and you want me to remove it, or want to be credited, please file an issue. What is integer-scaling? It's when the displayed resolution is a multiple of the original console resolution.

Why does it matter? It looks better, since there are no "TV pixel" in-between 2 "emulator pixel". And shaders applied are usually better-looking. However, an integer-scaled emulator does not take up the whole screen. So if you prefer a large image than a crisp image, use a non-integer-scaled version. Skip to content.
